Dumhawk (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the mobile application Only Floofs (the “App”),
a community for sharing photos of pets. This Privacy Policy explains what information we
handle and how, when you use the App.
Browsing is anonymous
You can browse, swipe, like, and heart photos without an account. We only ask you to sign in when you
want to upload photos or keep a persistent pet profile.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier
for your account, and the name and email you choose to share (Apple may provide a private relay email).
We use this to create and secure your account.
- Content you submit. Photos of your pets and the details you add: pet name, animal type,
breed, caption, and optional birthday. Photos and pet profiles you post are public and
visible to anyone using the App. We strip location and other EXIF metadata from photos before they are
published.
- Approximate location. When you upload a photo, we derive a coarse, city-level
location (for example, the city, never your precise position or GPS) from your IP address, solely to group
posts into regional (city) leaderboards. We do not collect precise location, we never display a pet's
location on its profile, photos, or feed, and the city is used only in aggregate city rankings. You can
avoid it entirely by not uploading.
- Activity. The likes, hearts, follows, saves, and reports you make, so the App works and
rankings can be calculated.
- Device identifier. A random per-installation identifier so anonymous reactions can be
counted once and abuse (such as spam or brigading) can be rate-limited. It is not your Apple ID and is
not used to track you across other apps or websites.
- Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token to send
them. You can turn this off anytime in iOS Settings.
- Technical data. Standard server logs such as IP address, device type, and OS version,
used for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention.
Only Floofs may show ads, including ads from Google AdMob. If you allow tracking when asked, those ads
can be personalized to you. If you decline, you still see ads, just non-personalized ones. We do
not sell your personal information.
How we use information
- Operate the App and display the content you and others post.
- Run safety and moderation checks (see below) before content becomes public.
- Calculate counts, leaderboards, “Pet of the Day,” and similar features.
- Send notifications you’ve opted into.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to spam, abuse, and security issues.
Moderation and safety
Every uploaded photo passes through automated moderation before it can appear publicly. We use Amazon Web
Services (AWS) image analysis to confirm the photo shows an animal and to screen for unsafe content,
and automated text checks on names and captions. Content that is flagged, reported by the community, or
borderline may be reviewed by us. Content that fails moderation is never published and is deleted on a
short schedule.
How information is shared
- Publicly. The pet photos and profile details you choose to post are visible to all
users of the App.
- Service providers. We host the App on Amazon Web Services (storage, database, content
delivery, and moderation). Sign in with Apple and push notifications are provided by Apple. These
providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users
or the public.
Data retention and deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the App.
Deleting your account removes your account record, your pets, and your photos from our systems. Photos that
fail moderation or are removed are deleted automatically. Some technical logs may persist for a limited
period for security and fraud prevention.
Your choices
- Browse anonymously without creating an account.
- Manage or disable notifications in iOS Settings.
- Block pets and report content from within the App.
- Delete your account and content at any time.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
We operate the App from, and store data in, the United States. By using the App you understand your
information will be processed there.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when changes
are made.
